8:12 am - addendum
g.w. is staring off into the distance... sigh, he looks like a 5 year old being told to sit still.

also: the delay inherent in satellite programming becomes very clear when i view both the nbc and cnn broadcast side by side, seeing as i still get network programming the old fashioned way, with an antenna.

8:06 am - mmm mmm good
i'm watching nbc's ongoing coverage of reagan's funeral, and it's these sort of events that i love. the continuous major network coverage, tom brokaw handing coverage off to bryan jennings, because as a major US figure, he has privlige to attend the funeral in the national cathedral. all these world dignitaries, the odd mishmash of celebrities... tom sellick for heaven sakes.

ooo, they cut to the clintons trying to make small talk. the bushes [all of them]. former canadian prime minister brian mulroney, gerald and betty ford, the carters, gorbechav, kerry, margaret thatcher, prince charles, the line of cadillacs. the pomp and circumstance of the military.

this is why i love the olympics. this is why i love national spectacles. 4000 of some of the most important people in the us-centric world gathered in the national cathedral. and yes, they've started singing ave maria... god i love ceremony.

11:17 pm - omg
final. fantasy. concert. felt so sorry for those in the standby line, with my 5th row tickets! that was lots of fun, uematsu, amano, and sakaguchi were there, and man was there a lot of clapping. they charged incredible prices for the programs and merchandise, but that concert was worth it.

6:11 pm - a heartbreaking work of staggering genus -or- how kit is reading the most indie book in teh world
projected end of freshman year gpa: 3.35.
projected end of freshman year mood: blah.
projected end of freshman year reaction from parents: not pleased.

i woke up in a cold sweat today, dreaming of trying to catch my flight on time, and never getting anywhere. i think it's symbolic of the futility of working against uber-asians [with an umlaut, which i don't know how to do], when i am just a normal asian, a not-particularily good one at that.

on the good side of the ledger, i got a job with residental computing, which means i have finally attained gainful employment.

it's good to be home, if only for a week. no classes, no constant barrage of work, irritating roommate, or any of the little annoyances of berkeley. though, it would seem that spring break has turned me into a sloth once again, i spend my days sleeping, waking only to eat, and watch the naked chef. kekeke

i seem to be plauged with the inability to write an entry longer than 3 or 4 sentences, unless of course it includes pictures. my camera is stuck up in berkeley, so i suppose i'll just have to make do with shorter entries.

1:50 am - narcissism? no way!
friend and i bart'ed over to daly city to partake of the local todai restaurant, where we gorged ourselves thoroughly on sushi and various other seafood items. and it turned out we really couldn't walk for a half an hour after that. it was about an hour or so bart ride and bus ride each way, but it was worth it.

no pictures this update, but my friend drew the anime smiley face on the receipt, which looks like this: ^_^ and we hope that brightened up someone's day.

6:51 pm - pictures! [to avoid finals study...]
this is my "finals study mode configuration" desk. you can see that i have lecture slides open, but that's a lj window cleverly hidden behind it. my laptop isn't even contributing to study, it has guides for knights of the old republic on it.

my replacement hard drive finally came. i am happy. but then i may not get time to install it before i go back to la. sad.

this is my closet. i haven't done laundry in much too long. the car ride home is not going to be very pleasant

this is what $80 worth of manga looks like. sigh. no time to read it at all.

my roommate has gone to the library to do his studying. so the cardigans are helping me with my studying.

this is what the "super-dc" looks like. a prison.

[idea shamelessly stolen from timothy, even though i've done it before too]
